The perfect birthday cake

It’s day 28 of Bloganuary and although I’ve missed quite a few days, I have to admit I’ve actually posted way more than I expected to! As it’s the weekend, I am back for day 28, and the prompt is describing your perfect birthday cake.

I thought I’d share this ideal birthday shot of my 30th birthday from this past year, to tell the truth. I really don’t enjoy cake. I never have and it’s always driven my family absolutely bonkers because they’re all sweet tooth humans. I used to get ice cream cake for every birthday as a child because I did enjoy ice cream, but now ice cream makes my sensitive anxiety belly hurt ! (Aging sucks eh)

If absolutely necessary to have a cake, my ideal cake (to my moms dismay) is funfetti Betty Crocker cake with vanilla icing. The joyful cake choice of a tiny 5 year old with no standards. But I will fight for that every time. And for some reason, it tastes better when it’s in cupcake forms to me. Maybe that’s my picky side or related to anxiety or something but since day one it’s been simple. You could even get me one of those microwaveable Betty Crocker mug cakes and my birthday would be perfect haha!

To be completely honest though, I’m a simple sweet girl OR a savoury queen. This charcuterie board was one of the best treats from my birthday- a little salty and briney and a sweetness from cheese and fruit – PERFECTION!

I laughed when I saw this prompt because I’m sure everyone is going to describe these beautiful cakes designed by famous patisseries, and mine is a box cake! Honestly as long as I get some fruit and everyone at my party enjoys is perfect to me !
