Day 5 summer gratitude journal – Thank goodness you’re here!

This is day 5 of my summer gratitude journal challenge and thank you for being here with me! Today was an easy journal day as I just felt such gratitude at the end of the day which started off with lots of anxiety. I am an occupational therapist and starting off with new clients gives me a lot of anxiety (I put a lot of pressure on myself to be the best OT which is quite the overwhelming standard haha) and today I had 3 new ones! But I had such a big laugh running from my 2nd new client to my car in the POURING rain as I was soaked with 50 minutes before entering a new client’s home and I think that really shifted my mindset as a reminder to breathe because it’s not that serious! Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and I take it very seriously that I am looking to be a safe person in my clients’ lives as they try to learn and grow to become more independent and empowered… but its also not the end of the world if I get caught in the rain! Anyways, I hope that the photo below shows my joy and I hope you had some joy today too 🙂

I shared a link to my video I shared below, but here are the journal prompts written out:

  1. I am grateful for ______ because ______
  2. Something I am looking forward to today/tomorrow/this week is __________
  3. What is something that made you feel alive today or something that makes you feel alive?

Sometimes finding things that make you feel alive can be very helpful to ground yourself in reality when you are having a hard time or feeling that you are spiralling out of control. Sometimes that might be holding an ice cube, doing heavy exercise, getting out into nature or thinking about space (random but I do that a lot haha). IF self harm is something you find to make you feel alive, that is a common outlet for people, please know that you are seen and valid and that all I can hope is that you are being clean and safe. ❤

And if you haven’t heard it today, I am grateful you are here and you are important 🙂

If you click here it will take you to the larger gratitude journal post where you can catch up and follow along with the rest of the challenge 🙂
